The 1st Annual Penturners Rendezvous was held on Wednesday evening, May 7^th, 2003 at the Holiday Inn in Provo, Utah. The gathering was held in concert with the Craft Supplies USA Open House and the Utah Woodturning Symposium. With 70 pre-registered and many others showing up, it was a packed house. The evening was very enjoyable with the crowd containing everyone from absolute newbies to the very experienced, including the authors of most of the penturning books available.

We were very fortunate to have Kip Christiansen, Rex Burningham, Dick Sing, and John Swanson in attendance not only to help celebrate the joys of penturning but to also autograph books for those who brought in their copies. With plenty of pizza and pop, the Yahoo Penturner's Group Pen Display, turning demos, and individual's pen pouches to pass around, the evening was a great success.


The catalogs and literature that had been shipped out prior for inclusion in the information handout package for Rendezvous attendees	We get started getting things layed out in the hospitality suite at the Holiday Inn on Tuesday night	Scott brought his mini lathe and a newly purchased stand for use at the Rendezvous	On Wednesday night, after the Craft Supplies Open House, we added the pens ...

and the pizzas ...	and soon enough, there were people	Bill Baumbeck had a sampling of the wares available from Arizona Silouete	There were plenty of pen cases (this is Rich Kleinhenz's) going around to compare work and get ideas
