Parts can be removed, then replaced repeatibly and accurately by using a clever locating system |
With a variety of timing wheels, the Legacy's versatility is limited by your imagination |
After a brief demonstration, those that wanted to gave the machine a try |
It didn't take long for the newcomers to start the fancy stuff |
Spirals, flutes, tapers, and combinations are easy using the machine |
And then we moved on to the baby machine, being designed for the small project crowd like penturners |
While not quite ready for production, Tracy gives us a demo on his prototype machine |
He quickly sets it up to do spirals on a pair of pen blanks |
It is easily indexed to do the next spiral cut |
Inside of a few minutes, the blanks are nicely
spiraled and ready for finishing |
The blanks get a coat of friction polish ... |
and then are buffed to burn in the finish |
The finished pen gets a test drive |
After the demonstration, everyone gets a chance to look it over and offer ideas |
According to Tracy, it should be announced for sale within a month |
